Maha Shivaratri ~ 2025
26th Feb, 2025

With the blessings of Guruji Sri Annapurnamba Sahita Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati
The most awaited day for all the devotees of Mahadev, Mahā Śivarātri is celebrated grandly every year at Devipuram as ‘Mahā Śivarātri Utsavam’. This year Mahā Śivarātri is on 26 Feb.
Devipuram is home to two Śiva kṣetrās – 1) Śivālayaṃ and 2) Dakṣavāṭi.

At Śivālayaṃ, Śrī Rājarājeśvarā gets daily worship as the kṣetrapālakā of Devipuram. Śivālayaṃ also has Ānanda Bhairava, the consort of Goddess Kāmākhyā in liṅga form. Goddess Kāmākhyā self-manifested here at Devipuram and gets Her daily worship at Kāmākhyā Guru Pīṭhaṃ.

At Dakṣavāṭi, there is Dvi-Sahasraliṅgaṃ (2,000 liṅgās), a unique precinct with 1,365 visible Śivaliṅgās (and 635 hidden within the central pyramid). Śrī Pañcabhūta Lingeśvara Svāmī is the central deity with 365 Śivaliṅgās.
1,000 couples / families can simultaneously offer Rudrābhiṣekam to the Śivaliṅgās with their own hands.
Guruji used to say that if one performs abhiṣekaṃ to the central deity once, it is equivalent to performing abhiṣekaṃ for all the 365 days in the year. Performing abhiṣekaṃ here on Mahā Śivarātri is fruition of the punya of the devotees.
